Selecting a Unit

The most important decision in having central A/C installed in your home is selecting the right equipment.

Heat-gain Calculation

This determines the heat gain your home is subject to. The calculation is relatively easy to perform and will reveal what size unit you need.

Sizing the Unit

Using the heat-gain calculation, we will recommend an air conditioner size, expressed either in tonnage or Btu per hour (Btu/h).

Unit Efficiency

After determining the size of the unit, we will talk to you about efficiency, which is expressed by the seasonal energy-efficiency rating (SEER).

Proper Placement

Even the quietest condensers make noise, so we will find a location that’s not near a bedroom or home-office window, with optimal air-flow.

Delivering the Air

We will carefully examine your ducts system. Many times, modifications are required to accommodate the greater volume of air produced by air-conditioning.
